Wednesday, January 6th, 2010Manhattan home buyers are taking advantage of lower home prices in large numbers. Brokerage firm The Corcoran Group and PropertyShark.com claim real estate closings are up 50 percent from a year ago, while the median prices in the 4th quarter dropped nearly 15 percent from a year ago.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the local market was experiencing some signs of recovery: “Properties are receiving multiple bids, less inventory is hitting the market and, in the latest quarter, fewer sellers cut prices. International buyers, absent for much of last year, are returning.” All important ingredients for any recovery.
